Abbey & Lyndon complete project with Oakhill First School
Based in Redditch, one of Oakhill First School’s main aims is to create a safe and caring environment for their students, where each and every student is valued and encouraged to achieve the highest standards.
As for any school, a key part of ensuring they are creating and maintaining a safe environment for their students, staff and visitors is regularly reviewing their site to identify and manage any potential health and safety issues.
Following a recent review of their site, it was identified that one of their existing stair wells was failing to comply with Health and Safety regulations, due to the nosings, or rounded edges of their steps being loose which was creating a trip hazard for their students and staff.
This is when Abbey & Lyndon were tasked with working on the staircase, to mitigate the health and safety risks by improving the design.
A family based business based in the Redditch area, Abbey & Lyndon were established in 1969 and have the knowledge, experience and dedicated team to complete any building project, working within residential, local authority and commercial sectors, as well as the education sector.
During this recent project with Oakhill First School, Abbey & Lyndon installed new nosings along with new carpet to meet the school’s requirements and help them maintain a safe environment.
The work had to be completed within a specific timeframe, due to other work being carried out within the school at the same time. Abbey & Lyndon were able to work within this timeframe, completing the project on time much to the school’s delight.
Following the completion of this project, the school has made the following comment about Abbey & Lyndon’s work:
