Apprenticeship Ambassador Achievement for WEN Members Core Tree

We love to see our members achieving outside of the Worcestershire Education Network, which is why we are delighted to announce that Georgia Smith, an apprentice working at Core Tree, has recently been selected as an ambassador for 3aaa.
Georgia has been working at Core Tree since the beginning of September of 2015 and began learning at the 3aaa Worcester College in November. Since starting her apprenticeship with the college, she has excelled in her work, taking on an add-on course in Web Fundamentals and finishing her IT course 2 weeks early.
Her hard work did not go unnoticed by the staff working at the college, who decided to put her name forward for the role of a 3aaa Ambassador. Georgia, along with one other apprentice, was chosen out of the several nominees selected from 10 3aaa colleges across the West of England and she will now be representing the training provider at events and open evenings.
Georgia stated “It is such an amazing opportunity to represent 3aaa’s and I am looking forward to sharing my story with others, to encourage them to consider becoming an apprentice”. She also discussed with us the negative stigma she feels apprenticeships have attached to them and her plans to change this opinion, “I feel people do not highlight the positive impacts apprenticeships have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy. They enable individuals to not only earn whilst they learn, but also enable them to learn the essential skills needed to succeed in a working environment. I am planning to change people’s opinions of apprenticeships by educating and informing them of these benefits.”
It is wonderful to see such a young individual excelling within her learning and is even more wonderful to see the strong and beneficial relationships apprenticeships form between individuals, businesses and training providers.
