Road Safety Week 2016

On the 21st November, Road Safety Week will be taking place across the UK. This week has been set up by the Brake charity in order to raise awareness of road safety and educate people on how to be safe on the roads in order to prevent road deaths and injuries.
Brake Pledge
The theme for this year’s Road Safety Week is the ‘Brake Pledge’. This pledge involves six elements: Slow, Sober, Secure, Silent, Sharp and Sustainable. By simply taking the Brake Pledge and doing these six things, you will be helping to improve not only your road safety, but the road safety of everyone around you. For more information on the Brake Pledge click here.
We have a keen interest in ensuring that the children within the local area remain safe when crossing and using the roads. So, if you’re a school within the Worcestershire area, how are you planning to get involved in Road Safety Week?
If you are a school or college, you can get involved in this awareness week by registering for the free action pack. We also think it would be an excellent idea to start educating your students on how to be safe when crossing the road during this year’s Road Safety Week.
Improve Road Safety Education
Parallel Lines offer a wide range of line marking services, including playground markings. They are able to mark out mini roads and crossings on your school’s playground, which can then be used as an excellent and fun tool to aid the teaching of road safety to your students. If you’re interested in this service, get in touch with Parallel Line Marking today.
