Witley Jones recently donated and installed some much-needed locker storage at Cotswold Riding for the Disabled Association’s newly refurbished kitchen/toilet area, to provide facilities for the volunteers to safely store their belongings.
Based at Cheltenham Racecourse, this excellent organisation provides opportunities for members of society with physical or learning disabilities, but has to rely heavily on grants and donations to continue the great work that they do.
Witley Jones’ Operations Director, Tim Whent, originally met the charity’s General Manager Claire Jenkins at Prestbury Village Fayre and after discussing the charity and the incredible work and dedication their volunteers have to helping people, Witley Jones decided they would like to supply and fit the lockers free of charge.
Dave Manser, Business Development Manager at Witley Jones said: “Having visited Claire and the team down at Cotswold RDA, it was clear to see the positive affect their enthusiasm and dedication has impacted on the lives of people with varying disabilities. I got to witness first-hand the incredible affect their work (and their amazing riding facility) has both physically and mentally, across such a broad age range.”
“Cotswold RDA has to raise £130k per year to cover the running costs and grants can be difficult to obtain, so it was nice to be able to help out and thank Claire and the team for all of their wonderful work. It was only a small gesture, but I’m sure the lockers will get put to good use!”
Claire Jenkins, of Cotswold RDA, added: “Storage is always a big issue for us – there is never enough and these lockers really do look beautiful. There is a now a solution for storage for our volunteers’ belongings while they volunteer with us! Everyone here sends their heartfelt thanks for this wonderful gesture from Witley Jones.”
