The Wonderful Worcestershire Women Awards celebrate local women living and working in Worcestershire and will be taking place on the 29th April 2016. We are delighted to announce that two of the women who have been nominated, come from ISO Quality Services and QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright – both businesses are members of the Worcestershire Education Network.
The first of the two women who has been nominated is Jennifer Appleton, a member of the Board of Directors at ISO Quality Services. Jennifer has been nominated for the ‘Director of the Year’ award, due to her contribution towards developing a happy and fulfilled workforce and the several schemes she has implemented to help others reach their full potential. Over the past year, Jennifer has implemented an apprenticeship scheme, graduate scheme, and an employee engagement programme within ISO Quality Services, all with the aim of placing her employees at the very heart of the company. When we spoke to Jennifer about her thoughts on her nomination and she stated “I am firstly very surprised to have been nominated, it’s nice to know that you are being recognised for the hard work that you do, and secondly very proud.
“I have been with the business over 6 years and feel I have contributed greatly to our growth over these years, our strategy for which focuses mainly around the engagement and development of our staff. I’m delighted that I get the opportunity to not only share our success story but also (hopefully) inspire other female leaders to do the same.”
The second of the two women that has been nominated is Sharon Chance, the Business Development Manager for QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright. Sharon has been nominated for the ‘Female Employee of the Year’ award, along with the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award and stated the following when we spoke to her, “ I am privileged and extremely proud to be recognised as a Wonderful Worcestershire woman. I will continue as always to work hard for the best opportunities for this county and for those businesses and business owners who live and work here”. The reasoning behind her nomination is down to the fact that she works very closely with her company’s clients, both old and new, as well as working as part of a team at QualitySolicitors to provide the best possible advice to their customers. Not only this, but Sharon is also very involved with the local business community, volunteering to co-found the not for profit organisation Apprentices In Businesses and us, the Worcestershire Education Network.
The winners for each award will be chosen via a voting system, which is now open and will close on 26th February. Following the voting, the top 5 in each category with the most votes will then go through to the interview stage with the events judging panel, who will announce the results wat the Worcestershire County Cricket club, on the 29th April.
